Top 5 Reasons I Love EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

EPCOT Food and Wine Festival 2011

1)      Wine Wine and more Wine!  I’m not going to say that wine is my favorite thing on earth, but it is definitely up there on my list.  I love that even the same type of wine can taste totally different depending on the bottle!  I walked the world and had 5 different Rieslings this year and NONE were even close to the same as another.  Fascinating!

That's me getting ready to drool over my Selbach-Oster Reisling - Want to give a shout out to Marilyn Torres who took this picture. Check out her awesome blog at http://forkful.net/

2)     It means that autumn is really here, the weather will be cooling off, the humidity will drop to a level that a normal person can live through, and winter is on the way!

3)     Exploring the foods of different parts of the world.  Where else would I have the chance to sample “Coq au Vin sur gratin de macaroni” Red Wine braised Chicken, Mushrooms, Pearl Onions and Macaroni Gratin… or Nurnberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll… or Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Baileys Irish Cream Ganache (oh yeah… that one won my heart).  Tapas sizes and prices under $5 give you the freedom to try things you never would have before.  With 26 countries represented at the International Marketplace, you are sure to find something to delight you!

Cheapest trip Danny ever took to his favorite country in the world!
And I got to go back to Ireland! Yay Guinness!!!

4)     Time with friends.  I know travel is about exploration and discovery, but there is something about the Food and Wine festival that inspires you to tell your friends, travel as a group and explore together.

5)     I’m at EPCOT!  Whether I want to walk the world and taste the goodies, or I want to ride the rides and get my thrill on… I can do that!  During the food and wine a great majority of people are walking the International Marketplace, so that frees up the lines for me to ride all the rides I want.  Still have to Fastpass Soarin’ though!
