Hey ya’ll! I’m back! And funny I should return to you on Wedding Wednesday because….. I got engaged this weekend! Well, technically I got engaged on Thursday (Thanksgiving… how sweet is that!), but still… it was a holiday so that counts as the weekend for me!
Because it’s sweet and sappy (and I have your undivided attention and can say anything I want in my blog) here’s how he did it! We were on the Celebrity Millennium with my family to celebrate my grandpa’s birthday. On the first day there was a VIP sail-away party on the heli-pad. In the middle of the party and in front of the entire party, Danny pulled me to the center of the heli-pad and got down on his knees (yup… knees! The ship was so rocky that he had to be on two knees so as not to fall over. I like to think he knew he can’t live without me so he was begging of course! hehehe) and asked me to be his wife. Or at least I think that’s what he said. Because it’s all kind of a blur to me. All I specifically remember from that moment was thinking… “I have a tooth pick in my mouth! He can’t propose to me with a toothpick in my mouth!” And somewhere in there I said yes and we kissed and it was magical.
As a Destination Wedding Specialist, there was really only one thing for me to do! So Danny and I are doing a destination wedding! And for the first time in my life, I can truly appreciate how difficult planning a wedding can be. We’ve only been at it for a couple of days, and already I’m hitting walls and having trouble making decisions. Unlike a lot of my friends and a lot of brides I have met, I never really envisioned MY wedding. I didn’t know where, when, what flowers… you know, all the important details. So I’m starting from scratch. Luckily we narrowed it down to two locations, Jamaica and Mexico. We spent a couple of hours going back and forth about both places. And THEN Dan added Curacao and St. Thomas to the mix. Sheesh!
Wedding Wednesday has been a place to come for information on doing Destination Weddings and planning Honeymoons. This will still be the case, but it will also be a place to follow my exciting journey through planning my OWN Destination Wedding (I expect there to be many laughs along the way… probably some tears and screaming also).
