In 2006 I was lucky enough to travel to Israel with a group of people from 21 to 26 years old. One of my most memorable mornings was when we all piled in to the bus at 3 am to drive from Jerusalem to Masada. All I could think was… “nothing is worth waking up before 3 am”. When the bus parked and we all dragged ourselves off, someone told me to turn around. As I looked back out over the dead sea, this is the sight that greeted my freshly woken eyes. For this, I would wake a hundred times before 3 am.
Israel itself is a magical place for me and I will tell you about my experiences there… but not today. Today, when I don’t really want my eyes to be open, this was a perfect reminder that life is beautiful and magical.
