Behind the Scenes at Walt Disney World

If you’ve been reading along since the beginning, you know my favorite place on Earth.  If you have just joined us, I’d love to tell you!  I am what they refer to as a “Disneyphile” (not as bad as some because I don’t have figureines and statues and memorabilia all over my house, but enough that everyone in my office knows to come to me if they have an Orlando related question).  It’s my favorite place/feeling on Earth.  I say that Disney is a feeling because anytime I walk through the gates of the Magic Kingdom, I am transported to a world where anything can happen.  Magic really exists there (yes I realize that Disney Magic is human made, but that doesn’t make it less magical).  When I go in to EPCOT I know that anything is possible if enough great minds work on it together.

Last time Danny and I were in EPCOT I surprised him with a special experience.  If you’ve been to EPCOT, you’ve probably been to The Land.  It’s a 15ish minute boat ride through the greenhouses of Disney.  What some people don’t know is that if you pay $18 per adult and $14 per child, you can actually go on a guided tour ON FOOT of these greenhouses.  You will learn everything from the efforts they make towards sustainable agriculture to how they deal with pests in the garden.  I don’t know if every tour does this, but we got to taste an “ice cream banana” fresh off of the tree and I can’t even tell you how amazing that tasted!  This was a tour we will talk about forever.

The best part is there are so many more awesome experiences like that available at Disney!  Here are a couple of the really cool sounding ones, but call me if you want to do something specific and we’ll see if we can get it set up!
