Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2014 folks!  Such an exciting year ahead of us!

My husband and I are expecting our first child any day now and that has given me a whole new outlook on life and on travel!  Up until now, we have jetted off to wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted, with no thought to anything else.  Cats are easy to care for so we could always call on a friend or family member to pop in and feed them.  But now… a child!?  So it looks like our 2014 is going to be pretty tame when it comes to exploration and excitement.  I couldn’t be happier!  So here is a look forward to our 2014 vacation plans.

Disney Cruise Lines welcomes children ages 3 months and up on their ship and most importantly… in their day care!!  This is the cruise line with the youngest age requirement.  We are hoping to book something on Disney Cruise Line for April or May.

Family vacations are always a must!  We’re going to be trying our hand at flying around July 4th weekend.  Stay tuned for humorous thoughts on those experiences.  In advance I apologize if you are unlucky enough to be seated around us and our baby starts to scream at take off or landing!!!

Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas.  We are already scheduled to sail in November.  I haven’t decided if we are going to take the baby or if we are going to BEG his grandma and grandpa to take him for the week so we can celebrate our anniversary alone.  If he does come, the day care will take babies from ages 6 months and up so at least we’ll have a peaceful meal or two ;-).  They do charge a fee in the nursery, but I think a peaceful meal would be totally worth it!

Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas.  One of my favorite times to travel is Thanksgiving.  I love being able to get the family together for more than just one night.  No one has to stress in the kitchen.  People who don’t like turkey have other options.  And no one has to clean up!  It’s just magical!  Not to mention that Dan and I got engaged on a Thanksgiving sailing a couple of years ago!  So as of right now it looks like my family will be sailing away for Thanksgiving (baby and all!!!).  It’s going to be such a great time for everyone!

What are your travel plans for 2014?
