November 11, 2012 was one of the most amazing days of my life. This was the day Danny and I were married. One of the things that made this day so special was that our family and friends joined us in Riviera Maya, Mexico for our Destination Wedding!
Being a travel agent for over 11 years, and having planned many Destination Weddings for my clients, I highly recommend this to everyone. Here is my experience of my unforgettable Destination Wedding!
After a year of planning from the comfort of my own home with the help of my wedding coordinator, I had the most relaxing weekend filled with drinks, yoga, and fun in the sun! Thursday we met my parents at the resort for drinks and to get settled before our guests arrived.
Friday we met with the wedding coordinators on property to finalize all of the details of our wedding. After that our guests arrived and we got to some serious relaxing on the beach! Those who enjoy drinking took advantage of the all-inclusive resort’s pool bar and beach butlers. Those who enjoy yoga took over a palapa overlooking the water and had a few moments of Zen. Those who wanted to relax and escape reality floated around in the pool and soaked up the sun.
A few hours later I went to the salon for my hair and makeup test run. This was perfectly timed so I could look beautiful at our rehearsal dinner!
Saturday we did nothing more strenuous than relaxing on the beach, yoga in our favorite palapa, dinner and a show!
Sunday was the big day! We woke up and went to breakfast with our friends and family. I did yoga yet again and spent a relaxing couple of hours with my friends. Dan then went off with his groomsmen to get ready and take some pictures. I went with my ladies to the spa and we got our hair and makeup done. Our ceremony was on the rooftop overlooking the ocean. Our reception was a blast! Since everyone was staying at the same place, we all met up after the reception for a late night swim in the pool by our rooms.
Monday we said goodbye to many of our guests before lounging by the beach some more! That night we had a wonderful dinner before a relaxing and romantic massage in my favorite palapa over the water!
Everything about our weekend was relaxing and wonderful. Our time with our friends and family was leisurely and we really felt like we got to enjoy our time with each and every person. I would recommend a destination wedding to many brides looking for a unique and personal experience
